Struggling to Find a Job? My Honest Experience Being Unemployed and Broke
What happens when you do everything right—get a qualification, apply for jobs, stay hopeful—but nothing seems to work?
This is the reality many of us are facing today. And if I am being honest, it is exhausting.
The Reality of Being Unemployed.Being unemployed is not just about not having a job. It becomes even harder when you are also struggling financially. The stress is constant, and over time, it begins to affect your mindset.
I have been applying for jobs for a long time. At this point, it no longer feels exciting or hopeful—it feels necessary. I apply because I need money to survive.I have revised my CV multiple times, trying to make it stronger and more appealing. I have lost count of how many applications I have sent out. Yet, the responses are often silence or rejection.
Why Finding a Job Feels So Difficult Today? The job market is more competitive than ever. Getting a job related to your qualification can feel nearly impossible without connections or financial advantage.
For many of us, we rely only on effort—and sometimes, that does not seem to be enough. It can feel like you are working twice as hard just to be noticed.
Unemployment is not just a financial issue—it is emotional. There are days when I feel completely drained. Days when giving up feels easier than continuing. Sometimes, I imagine how life would change if I received just one opportunity. Something as simple as being offered a role—like a bookkeeping position—would mean everything.
Instead, many days are spent at home, searching for opportunities, trying different things, and still feeling stuck.
One of the hardest parts is the feeling of being a burden, especially when you see your family working hard to support you.It is not a good feeling. It adds pressure and self-doubt. But I know this is something many people silently go through.
Trying to Stay Hopeful Even though it is difficult, I am still trying. I may not have everything figured out yet, but I have not completely given up. I am still searching, still learning, and still hoping for a breakthrough.
